This school was rated acceptable overall. Attendance was good and high-phase students progressed well, but a large minority of middle-phase boys underachieved and misbehaved. Teaching and assessment were weak in the middle phase, support for SEN and gifted students was generally weak, and high teacher turnover limited continuity of senior leadership.
